Set of 2 Earrings (Knot)

Our Knot earrings are shaped and hand-painted in our little Pune studio, each pair rolled and tied from soft clay before the colour ever goes on. They dangle with an easy, playful swing and are finished in a cheerful floral yellow that lifts even the plainest everyday outfit. Light enough that you forget you are wearing them, pretty enough that you won't want to. They are the sort of small handmade thing that quietly becomes a favourite.

Will these feel heavy on my ears? Not at all. They are made from lightweight handmade clay, so they sit comfortably through a long day, from your morning commute to a late dinner, without tugging or weighing your lobes down.

Because these are formed and painted entirely by hand, no two pairs are ever quite identical. A brushstroke here, a curve there, a shade of yellow that leans a touch warmer or softer, all of it shifts slightly from one pair to the next, and that is the real charm of clay made by a person rather than a machine. They also make a sweet, thoughtful little gift for someone who loves handmade things and small pops of colour.

To care for them, keep them dry and well away from water, perfume and hair sprays, and store them separately from your other jewellery so nothing rubs against the paint. Clay is delicate and can chip if dropped, so a soft pouch or a lined box is the kindest home for them between wears.

• Hand-wash with a soft sponge for best results, though it's dishwasher safe too.
• Avoid abrasive scrubbers and harsh chemical cleaners.
• Avoid sudden temperature changes (e.g. freezer straight to microwave).
• Small variations in colour and form are natural, the mark of a handmade piece.
